Terms & Conditions

Dr Emma Field and Dr Morven Templeton are trained, experienced and insured psychologists who are members of the Health and Care Professions Council and are chartered by the British Psychological Society.

In undertaking psychological therapy or coaching, providing clinical supervision or assessment and diagnostic services, we agree to work with you under the following terms:

  • Your confidentiality is very important to us; we will not share details of your appointments with any others without your clear and informed consent. Although we may record part or all of our meetings (particularly in the process of assessment) you consent will first be sought. The information recorded is not shared with anyone and is kept secure. All recordings are deleted following completion of our work together. Glasgow Psychological Services can also provide you with a copy of our privacy policy upon request.
  • We keep a written record of our work together and take notes of what was discussed as well as our own thoughts and ideas on the work. These notes are entirely confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party unless required by law.
  • You are asked to be aware that we have an obligation to ensure that you do not present a risk to yourself or other people, and to notify your GP (or other relevant parties) if we believe this to be the case. We will talk to you if we need to take such action wherever possible.
  • We require you to advise us if you have any outstanding medical claim or other legal action/involvement that may require a report on your psychological wellbeing, the outcome of your assessment or any other aspect of our work together. Glasgow Psychological Services do not undertake work of a medico-legal nature unless this is expressly agreed in advance of our work together.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to amend the findings of any report unless the information contained therein is found to be factually incorrect and does not relate to our professional opinion.
  • We regularly attend supervision to ensure the quality of our work. This is in line with the code of ethics and conduct of the Health and Care Professions Council as well as our obligations which come with chartered membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Fees for services are required to be paid in advance of your appointment and are payable by bank transfer. Payment is required at the time of booking for your first appointment and in any event, in advance of your appointment.
  • The fee for pre-assessment consultations will be refunded from the cost of full assessments should you decide to proceed with an assessment. Our website details the cost of our services and any changes will be detailed on the GPS site.
  • A limited number of concessionary places are provided where there is demonstrable need. Such need is required to be notified prior to commencing therapy, coaching, supervision or an assessment process.
  • Brief letters for GPs, schools etc are usually accommodated within appointment fees. However, longer correspondence or reporting will incur an additional charge.
  • Any supplementary letters or reports further to an assessment report will incur an additional charge.
  • We require a minimum of five working days notice of a cancelled assessment appointment and two days for any other appointment. If you need to cancel an assessment or other appointment, please contact your practitioner (Morven Templeton at morven.templeton@glasgowpsychologicalservices.co.uk or on 07724 699860/ Emma Field at emmafield@glasgowpsychologicalservices.co.uk or on 07940 852718). If appropriate notice isn’t given of a cancelled or missed appointment, the full fee for that appointment requires to be paid. A further appointment will not be rebooked until payment has been received.
  • You are entirely free not to proceed with an assessment service following your pre-assessment consultation appointment. In such circumstances, we may ask for your feedback to ensure that we complete our work in a way that is of greatest assistance to you.
  • Similarly, you are free to terminate your therapeutic, supervisory or coaching relationship with us at any time. However, it is usually best to have a closing session to conclude our work together although this is not a compulsory requirement. Again, we may ask for your feedback to assist our quality management processes.
